Competitive Research Grant

Universities have the task of conducting research in addition to education and community service as stated in the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia (Permendikbud RI) Number 3 of 2020 concerning National Standards for Higher Education. The implementation of research in universities is regulated in Article 46 of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 3 of 2020 which is directed at developing science and technology, as well as improving the welfare of the community and the competitiveness of the nation. Therefore, the University of Indonesia (UI) needs to improve and harmonize the implementation of research to achieve these goals.

Article 52 paragraphs (1) and (2) of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 3 of 2020 it is stated that planning, implementation, control, monitoring and evaluation, as well as reporting of research activities must be managed by a work unit in this case mandated to the Directorate of Research and Development of the University of Indonesia (Risbang UI). Then Article 54 paragraph (2) also mentions the obligation of universities to provide internal research funds. Therefore, the 2020 UI Research Grant Guide was compiled as a basic rule in conducting research funded by the UI Community Fund (DAMAS).

Article 46 paragraph (5) of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 3 of 2020 requires universities to disseminate research results by means of seminars, publications, patents, and or other means, as long as the results are not confidential, do not interfere and/or do not endanger the public or national interest. In this guide, research results are emphasized in scientific articles published in scientific journals or scientific conference proceedings or book chapters indexed by the international indexing body Scopus. This is in accordance with the purpose of the existence of research grants to facilitate research by the UI academic community in producing scientific publications as a means for postgraduate students to fulfill one of the graduation requirements, a means for assessing lecturer research performance, a means of supporting the successful implementation of education and research in postgraduate programs as well as a means of encouraging the achievement of publication performance. UI international science.

In 2022, the Directorate of Research and Development at the University of Indonesia (Risbang UI) will hold a UI Research Grant under the “International Indexed Publication” scheme, which is abbreviated as PUTI.
