Vision & Mision

Vision stated in the Statute is: “To become a superior and competitive center of science, technology and culture, through efforts to educate the nation’s life to improve people’s welfare, thereby contributing to the development of the Indonesian people and the world”.

Stages of the 2015-2019

Vision as mandated in the RPJP, the stages of the first 5-year vision (2015-2020) are:
“Realizing the University of Indonesia into an independent and superior PTN BH and able to solve problems and challenges at national and global levels, towards excellence in Southeast Asia”

Mision

  • Provide broad and equitable access, as well as quality education and teaching.

  • Organizing quality and relevant Tridharma activities with national and global challenges.

  • Creating graduates who are highly intellectual, virtuous and able to compete globally.

  • Creating an academic climate that is able to support the realization of UI’s vision

Destination

  • Creating an inclusive educational community, based on adab, trust, integrity, mutual respect and diversity in a safe and friendly environment;

  • Prepare students to become graduates who are intelligent and conscientious through the provision of clear and focused educational programs so that they can apply, develop, enrich, and advance science, technology, and culture;

  • Develop and disseminate science, technology and culture as well as strive for its application to improve the dignity and life of the community, and enrich the national culture;

  • Encourage and strengthen the development of existing sciences, as well as new sciences and studies in monodisciplinary, multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary fields, in order to answer the challenges of life’s increasingly complex problems;

  • Encouraging and supporting the active participation of the academic community in the development and service of a democratic, prosperous, and civilized society as an independent moral force;

  • Strengthening the role as a higher education provider, and collaborating with professional institutions and associations, so that graduates can gain expertise at a professional level;

  • Increase the quantity and quality of services to the nation, state, and the world through collaboration, partnership, and opportunities for cultural enrichment and continuing education, and;

  • Invest in professional development for all UI citizens as well as in useful technology in order to achieve competitive advantage through teaching, research, and community service.
