“LETTER OF INTENT SIGNING CEREMONY FOR PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN WEST JAVA GOVERNMENT AND MONASH UNIVERSITY” 📝

Monash University and the Provincial Government of West Java, Indonesia, on July 22, 2021, signed a letter to collaborate to work together with Indonesian researchers and government agencies to share knowledge and data, and co-develop innovative social and technological solutions to revitalize the Citarum River and its surrounding communities.

The Provincial Government of West Java and Universitas Indonesia (UI) have been active collaborators with Monash in recent years on urban water resources management.

This ceremony opened with remarks from Professor. Abid Khan (Deputy Vice Chancellor and Vice President (Global Engagement) of Monash University), Kuncoro Giri Waseso (Consul General of The Republic of Indonesia in Melbourne), and Ridwan Kamil (Governor of West Java)

Remarks from related office are Dr. Prima Mayaningtias (Head of the Environmental Office), Dr. Reni Suwarso (Head, Social team, Urban Water Cluster, Universitas Indonesia), Dr. Munawar Khalil (Deputy Director of Research Collaboration, Directorate of Research and Innovation, Universitas Indonesia), and Professor Andrew Macon tyre (Pro Vice-Chancellor & President Monash University Indonesia).

Director of the Informal Cities Lab within Monash’s Faculty of Art Design and Architecture, Professor Diego Ramirez-Lovering is co-leading the Citarum Program.
